I see London...

I'm a total city girl at heart. But not just any city. Those that know me know that one of the things I love the most in this world is London. It's important to me because this is where I come from. This city has and continues to shape who I am today. So the honour of my first blog goes to the City of London.

This city never fails to amaze me. It's like a bright star than never burns out. The sites, the smells, the people. The infamous writer Samuel Johnson once said:
"By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show"
Every word he speaks is of truth. London is the most dynamic and culturally diverse capital city in the world. The fast paced city life style, the iconic red buses, even the Oyster card. I love everything about London. You can find everything and anything here. Perhaps it doesn't have quite the same scenic landmarks such as the Amazon in Brazil or the deserts of Egypt, but it does have an inexplainable charm that draws you in.

There's so much to see here. So much to learn. So much to become. The opportunities are everywhere, the journey is endless. New York may be dubbed 'the city that never sleeps', but that's where it loses it's beauty. London is different; it's like a living thing, constantly moving and evolving around you. When the lights go down, the streets are quiet and peaceful. The hustle and bustle of city life goes to sleep until the crack of dawn. One of the most magical things to witness is a city come to life. Standing on the Golden Jubilee bridge over looking the Thames, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament as the sun begins to rise. It's absolutely stunning.

London sure is a place that I proudly call my home. I love travelling, but I wouldn't want to settle anywhere else. This feeling will always stay with me. No matter where I go, what I do. Home means London to me. A recent Snow Patrol song, one of my favourite bands, comes to the forefront on my mind:
"I love this city tonight, I love this city always"
